Walking the dog by the Newport Jabiru canal and spotted 4 lads, 12 to 14, plastics fishing very capably cos the biggest lad got stuck into a good sized fish whick took him around the anchorage area with him eventually landing a 59cm flathead.on a berkley black and silver jerk bait. Another lad hooked and landed a 47 and slipped it back into the water. Great to see young fellers really angling and being sports at the same time. Sorry no pics cos no camera. Good patch of water off Griffith Road with good parking and a fair amount of fishable water. Land based fishos should try it for size. :cheer: Ian M

i meet a few young fellas fishing last night/arvo.

they where 17 to 20 ish .

had a good chat to them nice young guys .

they where getting some good flatie's.

and from the chat they learned a few things from me and i learned some new stuff from them .

me and my bro thought how good that. out fishing .fresh air ,outside.

way better than ,drinking ,being hoons and makeing trouble .or sitting at the playstation all day.
