queensland baby black marlin

went out on a charter today with the work fishing club.

caught bugger all a 40cm schnapper and a couple of tailor. everyone else got pretty much the same,a schnapper,a pearlperch or a trag and a couple of tailor.

the bottom fishing was pretty dissapointing. we tried the 36, 26 and 24 fathom lines all pretty much the same. untill we came back in to the 24s east of south straddie after lunch we put a few unweighted live yellowtail out and they got monstered by little black marlin.:woohoo: they werent swallowing the baits just grabbing them and running jumping and tailwalking allover the place. as soon as you put too much pressure on them they let go of the bait or the hooks pulled out of the baits. the action lasted about an hour and a half with one picking up a bait every 5 to 10 minutes.

half of the guys were using alveys wich was hillarious, they'd be winding backwards to pay the livey out when bang the reels going backwards at a furious rate there were badly battered thumbs from the handle and screams of pain and excitment all over the boat.best fun i've had in ages

go gone fishing the boat was called hillary sunset

i have their brochure they are from mariner cove hey?

apart from the fishing how was the service were you allowed to take grog?

thats the one trav, the service was top notch and yes you could take grog along. the crew even had a drink with us when we got back
