Maroon Dam

Has anybody got the low down on Maroon Dam, down Beaudesert way.

Is it worth a crack or should I just head to Hinze?

Probably down that way on Easter Monday if any one else is about would be great to catch up.

i heard the water is quite low out there my uncle works at a wreckers in beauy and he has a customer that reguarly fishes either marron or moogerah dam for good success sorry but i cant remember the name of the dam

Supposed to still fish well, but very shallow, water was emerald green last time I was there! About 400m from end o fboat ramp to water, still looked launchable though (just before christmas)

I was reading about it in todays paper they reckon lots of fish 25-35cm, not alot of tropy size but good numbers to catch.

sounds like it's worth the trip, little bass are betterer than no bass.

Feral was it blue green algae, or just surface weed??

Our school camp site is down there and last time I went, it was just a 5-10 metre weed line on the edge of the dam but in the middle and on any steep edge or rocky cliff, there is no weed. We went swimming with no ill effects so I a nearly 100% that it is not Blue-Green Algae

sun water says that the blue green algae count in maroon is very low.

the sweetwater fishing site says that there is very little forage fish in maroon so insects play a huge part in the diet of the fish in there.

so topwater lures at dawn and dusk are the go
