Southern Moreton Bay

Gentlemen,

Me and a friend plan on fishing southern moreton bay tomorrow the northern tips of Coochie and Macleay Islands for squire / grassies. And also hitting up any sandflats for whiting etc.

I have fished these areas before, one time at Macleay we boated an estimated 100 squire, all around 20cm in about an hour. How ever, I have never fished the area with the use of a sounder.

What sort of water depth and bottom structure should we be looking for in these areas?

We thought we'd give this area a shot as I've been there a few times before with another mate, and we spent Thursday and Friday night out at the Rockwall (port of brisbane)with nothing to write home about (or eat, for that matter).

Cheers guys,

Damien.

Haven't got any thing but catties, shovels and bream in the river.

Next time we go out we might ask some one to come along to show us how to use the sounder better, or even maaaaaaaaaybe share a spot.

Was still good fun, and my mate got to bust his plastics cherry in his new boat. Just did lots of drifts, casting slightly ahead of the boat.
