The real story is that the hull cracked and was taking water. I took it to the dealer and even though the hull was waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of warranty, the manufacturer offered me a brand new hull for a few hundred, or a repair and cross my fingers, no brainer really. The pics are his 'express method of removing the rod holder mounts, for reuse on the new hull.

10/10 for service from Hobie.

It was funny when pussca load the new one on to the car then he asked if we (me) could lend some tools after 2 min I think mal got the shits and said look this is how we do it up here :laugh: :laugh:

Just a side note anyone after a kayak,Mal up at sunstate hobbie is the person to talk to with the service they give,they are second to none and I don't even own a kayak.
