Sharking at noosa.

hi all

have booked 2 weeks at munna point caravan park for the holidays. i was wondering if anyone knewq where i could go sharking up there. i havn't tried before but i would like to giv it a go.

Are you land based or do you have a boat?

If you have a boat, then in the river upstream between the two lakes, if you are land based you might have to drive up to tewantin and have a go around the car ferry on the patch of river around there.

I personally have never had much luck at noosa but they are there for sure. also there is a creek system behind the noosa junction where coles is etc. a boy caught a 3mtr moster there a while back, brackish water there too

The river in between them should see you with some interest. There's also some large pike eels in there too. Just after you leave Coroiybah (heading to Cootharaba) the river is reasonably wide with the RHS being fairly shallow but the LHS being deep. I'd be trying there if it was me.

There is 2 bridges just near the noosa yacht club. One is cars, the other for pedestrians. I picked up a good size shovel nose as well as a couple of decent trevally, and the old man got a bully a couple of weeks ago under the road bridge about 5 in the morning. Good for the cast net too as there is plenty of herring, gar and a few prawns around.
