went down to the one mile sunday arvo had a couple of hours before dark caught these few sorry about picture quality need better phone

this poor little fellow only just bigger than hook

his bigger brother

a small spangled also caught a small eel shark bait

the came what i was there for after catchin the others on a baited rig while flogging the creek with hardboddies getting dark felt a knock next cast nothing quick lure change can almost see the lure at my feet then bang were off after a short but intense fight trying to keep it out of the snags here is what i found on the end of my line

its good to see the local creeks and waterholes are holding these species.

I cant believe the fish in the water holes out near churchbank weir aswell its incredible where did they all come from the creek was just about dried n shriveled up or so I thought..

What a beaut little specimen that fella is in the first pic.

Caught my largest tandanus at the One Mile when I was about grade 5 ( a few decades ago now though lol ). I brought in someones set line and there it was ! :laugh: :laugh:

its between one mile bridge and berys lagoon ther is a few deeper holes too late to take the canoe to wivenhoe this arvo:( so took the boys back down to one mile again i dont get much fishing done myself when i take the little fellow :pinch: but i get a lot of enjoyment out of helping him:cheer:

here are some pics of him with a jewy he caught today

you can see in the back ground council has been through and cut a lot of the trees and grasses away making access easier but also seems to be more erosion of bank

here is a pick of bit bigger jewy i got after i took the boys home and went back for a lure session no luck on lures this time though jewy caught on worm on other rod

if i can wake the older son tomorrow morning i might get to wivenhoe in canoe to chase this fellows brothers

Do you target the tillies or was it a random catch? In the dam or a feeder creek?

Haven't seen one in Wivenhoe for years, but tend not to use worms these days

i have only recently started fishing wivenhoe again after a few years break as my spots have been high and dry i went to an old spot wher i used to soak worms of the bank and catch whatever is there jewys, spangles,catties or throw out a float for gar sometimes the tilarpia are there and if ther on the bite what fun. still trying to get the canoe out as the oldest fella wouldn't get out of bed sunday morning so i went to colledges by myself but th current around point was to strong to get past spit and canoe too heavy to drag across gravel by myself so i did laps of the lagoon got several hits but only one hookup
