Head start Ballyhoo Rigs hook up problem

I have been using those for probably 10 years or more and they are incredible.

I'd hate to say how many kings and other gamefish I have caught on them.

The biggest secret to rigging baits is to let the bait warm up if taken off the ice and then keep gently bending them from side to side right along the backbone to take the stiffness (rigamortis) out of the bait.

If you dont loosen them up they just tow straight or always wanting to spin.Get them right and the baits swim awesome.

Towing them down deep along rock walls or headlands with sea gars will get you some great jewies as well.

Anyone used a "Headstart rig" for slow trolling Gar? made by (wanabe outdoors)

I tried one on the weekend, and the gar swam pro!

The gar got smashed and the reel screamed for about a second,

But what ever it was missed the hook:(

I want to know if anyone else uses them?

mate i got a spanish on one the first time the same thing happend to me,maybe try a stinger hook or trebble running down the back.
