Manly whiting

visited manly on the weekend near the marina thought the area looked like a top- area for whiting on a lure. anyone got any reports or tips for this area, it full of weed beds and crabs so i think it may be a good area, if anyone wanna try it out with me im available on the 30th / 1st for a bit of a hunt will look at tides and try on the incoming in the arvo if possible (2IC has final say =Þ)

I don't think that area is good for whiting on lures, but you will get pike. They kinda look like whiting, and are alot easier to catch on lures, some people even say they taste like whiting. Good luck.

Head out onto the rock wall about 20m from the end and cast around there. I've caught alot of whiting off there, though never on lures. I generally cast just before the navigation beacon and let it drift back in towards the harbour.

i've only caught whiting on prawns in that area. usually in that little bay area next to the marina on the full tide
