Snapper bait

What would be your top 3 baits when targeting snapper?

Mine is

pilchard

cuttlefish

tuna fillet

Squid

Tuna Strips

Pilchards

gulps squidgies and squid

mullet fillets

tuna fillets

slimie fillets

Snap backs gulps and lucanus jigs

Squid first and then change to Pillies if no interest in the squid.

Yeah I have done alright on them in the bay. Not much luck alive but dead as whole or pieces they have been smashed at times.

larger blades like the vault 55 in redhead colour

and lately trying pink rippers and are getting smashed by smaller models. Gotta try them out offshore soon.

I used to like the nuke chooks but have gone off 'plastics' that dry and shrivel up

No order of preference as everything can have its day. But top three would be:

pillies

tuna slabs (seem to catch more pearlies though)

garfish (exceptionally good when there are pickers around

arow squid (the imported californian ones that are a perfect size for a two snelled hooks)

An honourablke mention goes to random fish purchased at asian fishmarkets.

Ones that have worked very well are:

whiting, sauries, yakkas, pike etc.
