Buying my 1st yak

Hi fellas was looking into buying my 1st yak any ideas of what to look out for what be great .Not looking to spend to much around the $400 mark to start with have been looking at Koolies kayaks are these ok http://brisbane.gumtree.com.au/c-Boats-Jet-Skis-boats-jet-skis-other-Kayaks-W0QQAdIdZ345615936 they seem good for the price with the extras back rest ,rod holders and paddle any ideas would be a great help thanks .

never heard of them but that means nothing there are that many brands these days

I bought my first yak a month ago , got myself a Viking espri , great little boat with a lot of room!

Thanks for your advice Jeff and Rich much appreciated think i'll try the koolies it's in my price range and has what i want .I liked the vikings Rich but just a bit out of my price range at the moment maybe when I upgrade .

They'll be fine Hedge. Just as long as it floats. That's actually a bargain for that price if you ask me. I wouldn't hesitate to jump in one.

i bought two similar ones in that price range not long ago, just to make sure i would use it, they are pretty good value for the gear you get, easy to store and move around in tight creeks etc. and bonus that they come with padded seat, adj rod holder, paddle and dry cell. only down side i see is that they are not that quick on the water like some of the bigger brand names and styles but for the money and first yak well worth it.
