What Rod would you recommend ???

Was talking to a mate of mine today and he was asking me about rods, so i was interested what AFO's think!!! He is chasing a rod for offshore, snapper, cobia,etc and also wants to have it double as a bay tuna rod longtails etc.. what would you guys reccommend ( Price range $500max)

what reel would you match it with!!!

That's what the guy told me in the shop In noosa I might be wrong but I still think nitro are a good rod builder?

A Daiwa Luvias Da rod in the 10-20lb would be a good choice and cost around $380 leaving you some change, it will handle anything from Tuna in the bay and Gt's offshore as well as Snapper and Cobia. As for reels one of the new Daiwa Caldias in 4000 running 30lb braid would be an ideal match.

ugltstiks are on special at BCF at the moment and i use a 8 to 15kg stik thats 7and a half foot long and i would match it with a shimano tld 25 it will cover all those you are targetting

I have a Black Rose for sale in this thread...

Light on for BIG Cobia but will handle a most snapper (maybe not at boat rock hahaha) and longtail.

Also from a long tail point of view its got balls but still whippy enough to flick a plastic a long way.

Cant go wrong for $100 anyway! Its in mint condition and they retail somewhere over 300.
