queensland Mud Island Friday Night

hi all

late report and first in a long time haha. went to mud after giving it a break for a while and did ok. we stayed out overnight and fished through the day. it was quite windy most of the night and the sleeping bags were very welcome onboard we got a few very decent runs in the early hours of the morning but couldnt capitalise on them but still managed a pretty awesome feed after all the work. a bit of a mixed bag but they are all welcome.

ill let the pics do the talking.

p.s i also got a tiger flathead i beleive which is apparently a NSW VIC species and in deep water so was pretty confused haha.

Some nice fish there mate. That tiger flattie looks awesome!!

To resize pics i use http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/

It will install straight to windows and just add a right click option to resize the pics.

The flattie is a fringed eyed flathead, not a common catch but they are around and good work with the trip looks like you put together a decent feed.

thanks jarryd. will test it next time i do a report. and yes the colours on the tusky are pretty sweet and the flathead is extremely odd haha

Def a fringe eye. I have caught 2 and seen maybe 3 or 4 others from the bay.

Not common but there.

They dont seem to get a whole lot bigger than that.

Tiger Flathead are a southern species but dont have all the excessive elevated ridges and "fringes" of the fringe eye.

eastern side in the carpark of other boats on the drop off. you wont miss it on a nice weather night haha

agreed. i havn't seen or caught one that big before let alone two around the same size. i actually got a good fillet off them surprisingly
