hey guys,

just wondering what pound line and leader would be suitable for targeting jacks. and is there a season for chasing jacks?

any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Jacks will turn on in the hotter months. As for leader I caught all my fish on 2lb -20lb leaders last season. A good starting point would be 20lb braid - 20lb leader but alot of people lean towards even heavier gear. If you want an adrenalin rush go lighter

There's been some good winter jacks being caught by bream fishos. Not a bad by-catch, eh?

This summer I'm going to try my jack fishing based on this principle - 'the harder you pull, the harder the jack will run back home'

I'll start with bream gear 2/3/4/6lb and go heavier if I get owned too hard but will try my best to go as light as possible.

Here's one my mate Chafuke here on afo got last week while we were bream fishin canals

4LB main and 4lb leader, went 44 tip
