In the river winning gold not silver.

Hey Guys

I took my Dad out for a fish on the river the other night to chase my usual target of jew and threadfin. We spent the begining of the night in search of some silver to no avail so we shifted our focuss to the threadfin and came up trumps. I ended up landing four 98,80,91 and a little mid 60's and Dad did manage to hook two good fish but unfortunatly did not end up landing them. All fish were released so someone else will be able to enjoy their fight in the future.

Wow, that is awesome.

What sort of gear are you using targeting them?

Cheer mate and this time i was using a shimano scorpion DC on a megabass 10-25lb stick and 10lb powerpro main & a rod length of 40lb black magic tough trace and lure was a 16 gram threadybuster in the blue colour.

Can you elude to what part of the tide you target them on? and,

Do you sound up a bait school and pepper it?

Just asking mate because you seem to have unlocked the key B)

I was up at Bribie last Saturday with a mate and I reckon that threadies were busting up baitfish against a sand bank. It was on the change, rising tide. It was pretty cool to watch a gold flash smash through baitfish in the shallows! Pity the wind was blowing its ass off and only had the 3lb bream gear.

It is a COLD run in the river in winter! remember last year with nadders curled up on the borrom of his boat freezing my arse off!

Hahaha classic Nadders. Try doing it in my boat at 70 kph! But I must admit the cold is soon forgotten once a good fish hits the deck.
