I caught a cod once at brekky creek. The fish wasn't actually hooked, the 30cm live mullet that was intended for a shark with a wire trace was stuck halfway down its throat, and could spit it out or swallow it. The cod was only 40cm...it took a fair effort to rip the mullet from its throat. Cod swam off strongly so I'd say it was ok.

once down at the pin bommie caught a small flattie around 250mm and when it was almost up a big flattie 820mm came up and grabbed it and then we got the 2 into the net. both went back .so just goes to show any thing is possible. al
