queensland After work toga party

Working away sometimes has it's perks and with an early mark on Monday and half an hour away from the Dawson river I knew where I was going. To try and get my first toga!

I'd been to this spot a few times and with heaps of hits a few hooked and dropped and one lost at the bank I knew it was only a matter of time til I landed one.

Got to the spot at about 4:30 and with the temp still high I didn't get any bites til about 6pm. Due to the dirty water and the fact I'd never caught a toga before I was using bait - a chunk of steak about 30cm under a float.

Anyways ended up landing 3 between 6 and 7pm and 2 of then were kind enough to give me an aerial display.

Then with the sun down I headed back tithe motel a very happy man!

Is that near Moura? I've caught em on shallow diving hardbody lures there around the highway bridge, down to the weir.

Smoked by big barra amongst the snags on light gear too.

Thanks guys @Damien nah it was a bit further south near Taroom. I havent been that far north yet but hopefully soon!
