Burkley gulps??

theres alot of fuss in fishing magazines and ads in shops about burkley gulps being the new range of scientifically formuated lures.............whats the fuss?? are they that good???

I have not be to impressed.

I get more fish with the regular power baits.

But some people do seem to like them.

Yeh I have 3 packets of gulps and have only ever caught one fish with them. There are millions to choose through but from what Ive HEARD the shrimp gulp works really well. Theres different types of gulps to... like saltwater and fresh water.

Thats about all i know about them apart from that fish just eat them with out moving them or making them look attractive.

I usually have more success on gulps, especially pumpkinseed coloured gulps.

ive fished the worm style gulps before like bait, you could do the others too i guess coz they stink a bit fish may be attracted to them.

For bream fishing i only use gulps. For me they would have to be the best bream lures around at the moment. The scent is way better than any other brand and they just seem to catch more fish for me.

From the bream tournaments that i have fished I found that nearly everyone fishes gulps.

There are alot of different colours n shapes and if you are fishing for bream just stick to the small ones 3inch and less. For me the 3inch minnow, 2inch shrimp and 3inch fry have been most succesful.

I dont think they can be classified as a sp . I Have 3 packs 4'' slimy mackeral - caught me zilch, 3'' grubs - caught me squat and the worms - caught me sweet FA.

Power baits are better and even better then that is the humble hard bodied lure.

hey dom the berkley promotional video makes them look great except for two things they stink and turn hard if left out of the pack. BUT i would defintely give them a go. apparently they have 400 times the scent dispursion of regular plastics and fish hold 18 times longer must be pretty good.

yeh i have that dvd......its not very good as he only shows you the first fish he catch's and it most likely took him hours to catch the fish...........unlike squidgy secrets vol 1 and 2 where starlo and buschy catch about 20 fish at each spot and they show you how to use them, what they are designed for and even tells you where they are fishing!

all those promotionals get you hooked on the brands but i guess you have to test them for your self

Hey howie yeh i have found the the 3\" minnow is very good! its probs one of my favourite berkley gulps. but i usually just fish with bait.. i dont use the berkley gulps that often but once in a while is good.

Hey Robbie do you mean the power minnows or just gulp minnow? The power minnows arent gulps. There just a 'normal sp'(if such a thing).

whoops thanx for picking that up tim. i edited it but yeh i was meaning just the gulp minnow. but also the 3\" power minnow is very gud aswell if not better.

Yeh I've caught way more fish on the powerminnows. Overall they have a better action and when fishing nudgee, last an extra cast without getting toadied.
