PICK up a rod, and lure dad into fishing this Father's Day.

Father's Day Fishing Fest 2015, an initiative by Queensland Urban Utilities and Ipswich City Council, will be held at Cribb Park in North Ipswich next Sunday.

The competition is a catch-photo-release event and anglers can fish from boats, kayaks or the riverbank.

"With great prizes up for grabs, this will be a terrific day out for the whole family."

Prizes include a 2.7m single-seater fishing kayak, BCF vouchers, rods and reels.

The event kicks off at 7am, with awards being announced at 1pm.
