queensland Any good land base fishing spots at Currumbin

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows any good land base fishing spots at Currumbin and the surrounding areas. I was thinking of heading out on the weekend and flicking a few plastics and bait out. Does anyone have any advice on which plastics are best/ work for others and what bait to use

Will do, do you know any good fishing spots to target whiting?

Don't know the area at all, sorry.

General advice with whiting is fish the edge of a sand bar/bank and keep the bait moving slowly.

With any luck Wayne Young ( @youngy  ) will pop his head in and give some advice. Then you'll be set for life.

Oggy, i have included 2 maps that show you a couple of spots in both Currumbin and Tallabudgera creeks, pumping yabbies would be the best option for whiting and they can be pumped in the Bay east of the bridge where the yellow pin is in the Currumbin map.

Both areas are busy on weekends especially this time of year, that's why i have marked a few spots to give you more options.

Small grub soft plastics would be a good option in same areas for Bream and Flathead as well, good luck, cheers wayne

Mate it has been many many years since I fished there but the whole system is walkable and flickable.

I would hit with tiny surface poppers and walkers I think the bream and whiting would be all over them.

Ok thanks, any types of poppers or walkers I should be getting in particular? Where do you usually fish?

I've had very good luck with the bassday sugapen 70mm on the flats near the mouth.

The first few hours of the incoming tide is best for whiting.

However, they were doing a lot of sand dredging near the mouth last time I was there and it shut down the fishing a bit.

Which grub soft plastics are best ones or work or have worked for other people. Which colour bass day sugapen is best for whiting and other species
