Kayak Trolleys

Hey everyone...

Wondering if anyone has a good opinion on kayak trolleys? Brands etc even creative DYI options?

Looking at sucking it up and getting something like this...

But would love advice first. Both locally and down the Tweed I have kayak options mere minutes walk from home so seems a good option as opposed to lugging it on and off a roof and double packing.

I got one like this one - mine has a strap, in the limited times I've used it I've found the strap can slip and you need to re-adjust and re-centre the kayak on the trolley. Take a look at KFDU there should be quite a few DIY ideas for them on there. I like the look of the ones that just insert up into the scupper holes but haven't used one - pretty sure I've seen DIY ones using PVC pipe.

Had one using a strap over the yak, found it pretty useless as it kept slipping as soon as it went over a few bumps.

Best to get one with two uprights that fit into the scupper holes.

You need to think outside the square. Adapting one of these would have endless possibilities.

Using my kayak for it's yearly outing ........... at Noosaville this coming week. Really need to start using it around Brisbane also.

I use à sea to summit scupper hole cart, Very easy to use but the only problem is sometimes pulling the thing back out of the scupper holes can be hard, as the rubber insert is a conical shape to suit different sized scupper holes. Maybe I just need to go to the gym !
