Hobie Outback on a small car

Hey all, I've recently bought a Hobie outback, however in terms of transporting it we have a 2011 toyota corolla hatchback with roof racks. After lining them up I'm very skeptical that it'd be safe on such a small car. We also have a Forester without roof racks at the moment but the corolla would be the preference.

Does anyone have any experience transporting a kayak on a small car? Or does it just sound too sketchy?

Thanks

I’d check the weight capacity of the roof and then the roof racks. Outback’s are about 36-38kg which shouldn’t be a problem on most cars with decent roof racks. Stability wise the further apart the racks are on the roof the better, invest in some good tie downs and you should be fine. It would be significantly easier to lift onto a Corolla for sure!

Thanks mate yep going to have a chat to the roof rack place and grab everything I need to give it a go.
