Botany Bay kingfish madness 75-85cm bagged out!!!

Botany Bay Fishing

Recommended Posts

Jeez, havent the kings been firing lately in the bay,

We went out on 2 separate trips on the first trip we caught a total of 7 kingfish keeping 5 with the largest going 83
Then on the second trip we caught a total of 6 kingfish keeping 3 with the largest going 85. We have been fortunate enough to avoid the plagues of rats with the majority of the fish being over 75cm.

Live Squid ofcourse outperformed all other livebait by far, roughly 4 - 1 when compared to live yakkas. Both days we managed fairly high numbers of calamari first day catching 6 and the second day catching 9. Around 3 hours each day catching live squid to only have the kingfish smash them all within 30-40mins.

As always would love any feedback on the video as im always looking to improve!

Hey BBF

Good video! Those are some solid kingies.

For some feedback, maybe you could put your speaking a bit louder (it's just that I need to decrease it for the music, which was nice by the way, and increase it for any speaking).

Thanks for posting.

Cheers Hamish

cheers mate, awesome feedback!
first vid with commentary so im definitely looking to improve

A couple of good sessions by the looks. Conditions looked pretty nice as well.

What size rods and line do you use ?

Hey mate had one overkill setup for the 1m+ kings which was 80lb mainline with 100lb leader on the saragosa setup
the other was a 60lb baitrunner setup
and not used on the day of the video is a 40lb salina 3 setup
as for rods 8-12kg setups and the rod that the saragosa is on is like 18kg.

Generally for kings this size its best to play it safe around the 40lb mark is good, although it depends heavily on where your catching them in terms of structure and depth etc.
