Damn brilliant new travel rod.

Just picked a new travel rod for arapima, it's the new Nitro bone crusher 2-4pe (so 10kg-18kg) they also make a heavier 4-6pe version too. 7'6" with a fast action and it's so light. 

I gave it a flick the other day and it's brilliant and will flick lures up to 90gm, it should be perfect for Arapima and Red tail catfish, ballances really well with the Stella 400 and the new YGK full drag line is perfect for it, it's only pe3 but 60lbs so 30lb thickness but twice as strong. I can fit 180m of line on the reel so now it's the perfect travel outfit for me.

The Nitro travel rods look like good rods - if I need a travel rod I think I would buy one of them.

These look quite nice. Recently at BCF i picked up a maikuro travel rod which is a good all rounder, for about $35 or something, so very cheap. It's nice quality too, but it's one of those telescopic ones, not a multiple joint section one.

I no, this was something that just hit the market and is better then the one I was chasing and a couple hundred bucks cheaper.

I've got a few Nitro travel rods now, some of the best on the market, $450 each but when chasing trophy fish don't skimp out. 

I've got a 4kg travler spin, 4-6kg 007 undertaker baitcasting rod, 6-8kg 007 gangster megabeast baitcasting rod, 6-8kg (forget the model) spin and now this one. 

Love them all, they feel like one piece rods.

Couldn't give me a telescopic rod, I've had them and other then the tenkara fly rod they have all been rubbish.

Yep, agree on the telescopics, I wouldn't touch them.

I have two of old 4 piece Daiwa Heartland's with a ABU Cardinal 52 and a Penn 4200 SS and they are brilliant.

Now I've been using this a lot more I'm absolutely loving it. It handles like a 4-6kg rod rather then an 18kg one, it's light with good curve and flex with a ton of backbone to it. 

I'm really looking forward to really testing it out on some arapima this year.
