Correct me if I'm wrong, the yellow zones would open for recreation, closed for commercial. Their wording is a bit hard to follow. Can't see all that coastline being shut down for recreational fishing. Possibly other restrictions, size limits , bag limits.

I don't know for sure, but I think the yellow means 1 line per person. No commercial.

I can't understand why they would make that section of surf beach along the eastern side south of Indian Head a Green Zone. Seems ludicrous. What are they trying to protect ?

Was over there end of sept. on the yak, they had 3 barges running from inskip and lines of 4x4 as far as you could see on both sides. Might be a good thing for fishing future to pull it back a bit, much to the disappointment of people whos livelyhood relys on the tourist $$ though.

Most of them aren't fishing though. It's surprising how much of the beach-side is not fished. Also there is the annual closure for tailor.

i don't think that green zone includes fishing off the beach... by the looks of it there will be a conservation zone along the beach and the actual no fishing zone will be offshore.  only actual no beach fishing zone appears to be just north of ngala. 

 

interesting they are looking to shut out a big section of double island point headland and surrounds though.  doesn't include my favourite rock so that is good.

they did it down the gold coast north of the bar
