queensland Baroon pocket Sunday 24.6.06

Hi guys i dont know if anyone is interrested but me and some guys are heading up to baroon pocket this sunday.

Ive seen there is a load of posts on this dam. So i guess its one you guys fish alot, i know it might be short notice but if anyone would like to join use the more the marrier.

we'll aim to be on the Malanie arm of the dam at around 5-5.15am.

Is this dam boat friendly (power)??

Not power boat.

You can take Electrics but there is a limit.

Is a fantastic dam sorrounded by rainforest. Really beautiful.

Ill deff come another time if possible. Its one place i intend to hit up when i get a yak.

Yes - no power engines, so no jet ski's - so friendly to boats! :whistle:

The guys and I all have Kayaks

So im happy theres no power boat will be a nice day........but ive been told your can have elecy motors but only ten on the water at a time.

I dont know if this info is right 100% thou.

Mate it is limited numbers yeah.

But for Yakkers thats awesome.

Its such a good sorround its bloody nice that you done have to worry about hoons etc.

Its a dam i deffenently intend to hit up more when i get my yak.

The mostly catch Bass there, but dont down size your lures to much they have also released a fair few Mary River Cod in there!

The Maleny end boat ramp does not open unto 7am, (200m portage if you want to go earlier, with no parking, the gate is at the entry) the ramp near the wall is open 24hours.

Instead of going to Maleny once you go up the range, you take the montville turnoff, the turn off to the dam is on the southern hill just before Montville, well sign posted, but close to corner.

Is the 24 hour gate near the dam water did you say?

If so the only road that runs anywhere near there is Narrow Rd, that runs off Western Av, that runs on to Maleny Montville Rd.

So im hoping this is the road because its going to be easier for us as where coming Maroochydore.

Mate thats correct. Its is Narrows Rd off Western Ave. Easy access to the water from there.
