queensland Nerang River Session

Last night my Dad and I went to the Nerang River and Fished High Tide about 7pm, Armed with Fresh Mullet fillets, Plastics and a HB poppers. I Kicked the night off with the popper which was my first time using and was unsuccessful. After about 20 min, I wacked on a nuclear chicken grub about 10 min of flicking around I had a hit, Fish on. To my Surprise I had landed my first estuary cod on Soft Plastics, About 5 min later my dad landed a mangrove jack. We fished till 12.30am we had a total of 7 bream, 1 Cod, 1 Mangrove Jack. Just for the record, Bait Outfished plastics But I did my Best Landing the Cod and the biggest bream.

Productive session mate. How heavy was the gear you used to catch the Jack???

It was one of the best sessions Ive had with my old man in a while, wish I caught that Jack. He caught it on Size 1 baitholder with a size 1 running sinker on about 15lb line. As for the size I made sure they were over 35cm but I was to excited to take note of exact measurements .
