Fishing locations at Noosa Heads

Me and the family are heading up the coast to noosa on the weekend and im gonna do a bit of fishing, plastics and hardbodies, Does anyone know any good spots I should try,

Only been up there a few times, but anywhere is fairly good. Woods bay is meant to be pretty gun for trevally and the odd jack. Anywhere along the river you should be able to catch bream and flattys and the odd trevally landbased, if you explore abit im sure you will find a great spot. Dont forget to give the poppers a go .

yeah Mate Id head down to the end of hastings street to woods bay, good swimming for the kids and some awesome spots to fish can walk the whole of woods bay around to the mouth. id recommend larger 4-5" plastics, large 60-70mm poppers worked quickly and metals around 10-25 grams. there are loads of trevally,queenies,tailor and large flathead in the area.

should hit up noosa national park,pelagics should stil be around this time of year also plenty of reefies in close to the rocks;)good luck

I agree with brisfisher on that its one of my favourite land based places to fish i usually trek around to Granite Bay and have caught some quality fish off the Rocks on the far side near the fairy pools.

IMO most of the Noosa river is great.

One of my favourite spots easily.

P.S. Have a look through the North Coast reports there are a few Noosa river ones.

I would have recommended the national park except for the fact he said he was taking the kids so thought the river would be best

Iv picked up a few jacks around the pylons of that old walk bridge in weyba creek.Its all good up ther.

I'm also thinking of going up there, for a day trip on saturday. Are the spots mentioned good for getting yabbies and using a cast net for livies?

There are quite a few yabbie holes around the edges of woods bay, couldnt tell yah how well they produce havnt tried. Easy to get livies with a cast net. chuck a few big livies into woods bay and hold on

Went fishing but didnt go to Woods bay or the National Park since my brother inlaw couldnt be bothered:( . Fished around noosavile Just near the unit. Damn I got nothing tried nearly all my lures and a *h** load of plastics and got nowhere. Think I might have to hit the location with a group of AFO members who know the area.

Unlucky mate, I havnt fished around the noosaville stretch so not sure how it usually fishes, Woods bay and the National park however usually produce a few good fish. better luck next time.
