Newstead Arvo 24-4

Mozza and myself went down to newstead to see if we could catch a few bream for a couple of hours today. The wind was blowing straight into our faces making it hard to get a decent cast in. We got a few hits and a couple of hookups but all we could muster up were a couple of bream.

I think night time is the key to success down there.

Anyway first bream about 22cm [img size=374]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/001_AFO-d41a0d1911059f1ddb53d54ee25bdc63.jpg

second bream about 28.5cm. It was funny because as i was winding up my lure i heard this odd eratic rattling sound at my feet.

I continued to wind and pullled up this nice bream. What had happened was that the bream had ate the lure without me feeling it and it was shaking its head in an attempt to throw the hooks. day time isnt much good for much at all i my experience, unless its mornin or dusk.

I caught a 33cm flathead in my castnet on monday evening about 5.30 at oxley creek.

yeah at gracville where it hits the river off the pontoon, i gave it to some guys there who where also after prawns

he must have been chasin the prawns,, blew me out as its only a cheapo 7ft castnet and doesnt get a lot of spread so i guess he couldnt see much,,

btw oxley creek has poor water quality
