queensland prawns fire up in the river

hey all,

hit up west end this morning in the hope of landing a few threaddies,got there at bout 8ish n began rounding up some livies,got a heap of prawns within a few casts(not little prawns im talkin bout 20cm+ prawns)this was starting to look pretty promising but after 3hrs n not a single touch on the livies(not even any catties) was bout to pack it up when zzzzzzzzzzzzz :woohoo: finally got a good run,hmmm didnt put up much of a fight but geez was it heavy...here it comes...aarrhhh dirty stinkin pike eel:angry: couldnt be bothered dealing with the slimy scum so just cut the line to avoid any hassles.stayed for bout 30 more minutes but wasnt to be:( cast netted a few more prawns for a feed n i was on my way...wasnt the best session but managed to round up bout a kilo of good size prawns n spend a bit of time on the water;)

hmm pretty sure there banana prawns but i could be wrong

Bloody nice prawns.

With the inflow of water after the rain there will probably be some good ones in the system for a while.

cheers for the relpys fellas,lol big al u sound keen to bag a feed mate:P alrite il spill the beans,BBG rowing club,no boat needed just cast off the concrete wall,best at high tide though.good luck but leave some for me:P

thanks for that brisfisher good to know prob wont get there how long do they last at that spot:) tailor one spot just off the darcey light out from boat ramp at wynnum along the ledge off king isl green side rock wall manly:) between green &sthelena we always fish out boat best on in comming tide you can fish if using pillies buy floating them 90cm below a float with small lead to keep pille down or no float or lead we always try both so as to see where tailor are =and out from darling point

we fish from 5:00pm till 9:00pm or till fish go off best months winter june to august
