Friend Come Down From Geelong.

hey,

my friend has just come down from geelong and would like to go for a fish somewhere along the northen side of the river.

i have tried all along the hamilton stretch and havent got much at all i was wondering if anyone could tell me where to go to take my friend and get some good fish.

umm lures and soft plastics mostly but we could use bait if we get more fish on them

you could try around newstead house along the walkways there, usualy a few bream and flathead around.

Tides about half out now, low around dark. Pretty hard land based. Try newstead park Park in the side street, and enter the park from the end of it instead of through the front gate. You can go left or right here along the boardwalk / walking track, but with the tide as it is, I'd go left and try fishing off the pontoon. Try casting back toward the rock wall (from the pontoon) as well as out into the river.

If you get bored, you can then work the wall around into breakfast creek until you get to the bridge, try around the pylons for bream.
