Shipping rods statewide

hey guys just wondering is anyone know the best and most economic way to ship rods? i've got a couple rods need to be sent down to NSW and i've never shipped any before, so if anyone has any good/bad experience to share that would be greatly helpful

Havn't had to do it but I would get a piece of pvc pipe that fits the rods then wrap some foam rubber around the rods to stop them ratling around and rubbing together and use one of the couriers

might be cheaper to get thick cardboard tubes or you could just look for a construction site(lots of them near me) and take a hack saw heheheheh jks

pvc pipes not that expeno, if your only sending 2 down 90mm pvc should do the trick, just need that and 2 endcaps, wrap em up like azza said and your good to go!

If they're two piece and under 6 foot, the post office tubes are fine.

cant go past pvc tube... 120 mm will fit 4 flick sticks easy

wrap tip to butt with strips of foam taped to fit snug inside tube

i dont do every guide with foam ..the big ones need a good buffer cover...

you dont want them to be able to move inside the tube...

tape foam on the ends of rods also ... i pack mine when i travel this way and have never had a prob.. theres now way i would trust anything else ....

you need to check on sizes of freight etc first maybe

pay a lil extra and go couriers, ive been having major issues with asut post in the last 3weeks and they still havent located my item which has had several investigations on it

Hi Jeryl,

I have got a thick cardboard rod tube which i dont need and you could have. It came all the way from the US and is very secure. It fits one peice rods up to 7'6. Feel free to pick it up if you want from Runcorn. Also i too would use TNT express or some other courier company.
