Barra in the Logan

Did anyone see in the December Issue of QFM.

There is a pic of the 3.3kg barra from the Logan.

The logan is further south than the Brissy.

So maybe we will be getting reports of Brissy River Barra soon

There have been isolated reports now and then.

Barra used to be in the Brisbane river, from what I hear Logan has a Barra farm upstream that occassionally gets flooded, hence the occassional captures.

There is no reason the Brisbane and other local rivers could not be stocked, they farm Barra as far south as Adelaide!

more that likeley, some one had it in a fish tank and got to big. And they did ust to have a barra farm at logan. So i dought theres are barra in the logan, jsut a one off.

i hear from a reliable source, a barra measuring around the 60cm mark was caught near the bribie bridge mid july this year.

I don't agree with you about it being a one off.

Listen to Nuggets fishing show on 4BC on sat and sun mornings and there have been reports of more than a few caught from the Logan.

And as someone has mentioned already, if the Threadfin Salmon are now an infrequent catch here in the brisbane area, I can't see why we won't see the same with Barra.

guys, we seem to be forgetting i found a 60cm-ish dead barra just below the Mt. Crosby wier...in the BRISSY river lol its in the forums :S
