  1. This topic makes me realise I’m really old school. Hook eye styles, leaders, reel sizes! I don’t worry about any of that. I cut a bit of line off the end, tie a swivel in between, tie a hook ( any sharp hook) on the end and, hey presto, ready to fish! Used to catch plenty years ago with that method. I just need to find a few spots again! Lol

Goomburra? Sounds cold just by the name. Where the hell is that? And are there any fish there?
  3. Forget the last post. Too many wines. Just read your post again.
  4. Wow Hamish! Great flattie. Well done! Did you keep him? Great eating.
  5. I like the way your missus checked the weather, saw it was improving and begged you to stay longer! Lol
  6. Gee’ Ray, I wish I had your stamina! It takes me a week to get over my last fishing trip and you get out every couple of days.
  7. I paid with PayPal so there is some protection
  8. Go to leappower shop
  9. I supposedly bought a new Shimano Stradic 5000xg last night for $90 delivered. I release it’s probably not genuine but thought it was worth a chance at that price!
  10. Yeah. Sorry @DropBear. The quick or the dead around here.
  11. Welcome Glenn. Are you targeting mainly estuary or in Moreton Bay?
  12. Thanks @Allnighter. That is an informative article. So, you use 8/0 circle hooks usually baited with live or very fresh large squid. How do you place the hook into the bait, if you don’t mind me asking? Also, do you use a sinker, swivel or what other tackle. cheers Greg
  13. Can someone please tell me where you can go in strong winds, in Moreton Bay, in a morning, and catch a 53cm grunter, a similar sized trevally, a 53cm tailor, smaller grunter and bream, a legal sweetlip, Cod, other sweetlip and a whiting? https://bnbfishing.com.au/saltwater-session-moreton-bay/?mc_cid=1dee56d3fd&mc_eid=47674f88e7 Sigh.
  14. Lucky you’re tall then Hamish
  15. A second! Mate, I can’t even get a hit after an hour or so.
  16. Thanks Ellicat, Old Scaley, Cavvy and Hamish for a great day out. Must do it again. Old Scaley, for the record I used 53 litres of fuel, which considering we were racing all over the bay looking for Ellicatch, was pretty good going in my books. And we must bring Hamish more often guys cause he does the trip report for us!
  17. I don’t even know what you guys are talking about! Lol
