queensland Brisbane Port Fishing

Hi fellas, just heading up to brissy later in the week and a mate says the lytton rd boat ramp is a good place for land based fishing. Anyone fished there before?

long long time ago, go left and fish under the road bridge is okay, but it runs hard through there on a big tide. Have not tried anywhere else near there.

If you are talking about Lytton Road, you might have been told about Colmslie boat ramp. There is a fishing jetty there that gets plenty of use so there must be fish there sometimes. Binder is talking about the Port boatramp. There are definitely fish there but also plenty of rocks and a huge tidal run which would make it tricky to fish but not impossible. Take lots of spare tackle though. There is also a pontoon there but it gets lots of use by boats so you might be winding in a lot.  On the other side of the car park from the bridge, there are mudflats that should hold flathead, bream and whiting.  I do see people fishing there sometimes.
