On 17/11 PRFMA members installed 2 groups of FADs in North Pine dam.

In America where their dams are approaching 100 years old there has been a significant decline in fish numbers and sizes.
This decline has been attributed to the decline in fish habitat due to the rotting off of submerged trees and vegetation.
They have commenced to remedy this by restoring lost habitat. They even collect old Xmas trees and bundle them up and place them in the dams.
In dams where this is occurring it has only taken around 12 months for get spectacular  results.
A few years ago two officers from the DPI research station at Bribie won Churchill scholarships to go the the USA and study this.
About 3 years ago they attended a meeting at the PRFMA and gave a presentation.
It has been a long process to  get DPI and SEQ water to finally grant approval to trial the installation of some FADs in NPD. ( I think that there is a similar project in Cressbrook)

If the test one is any indication, the bass probably took residence within 24 hours.

An underwater camera would be interesting!!

If you want any underwater camera footage let me know. I have a BRUV now and we could set it up near them. 

How much water are they in?

They are in aprox 25 feet of water do not know how the vis would be at that depty but you could bring it along the net time you come .I have seats avail tomorrow ( Wednesday) and sunday.

Wing forecast for tomorrow isn't very flash.

22 knots northerlies by 0530 am hiking up to 30 knots by  noon !!
