hi everyone Happy new years.

next week my mates and i are going over to moreton island camping for a couple of days, i havent been there before and just wondering if anyone knows of any good spots to go fishing from the shore. cheers!

If anyone wants to know of some good spots to fish in the pine river just ask me. Ive been fishing there since i was 12 and have some great spots.

Cool - would you be able to tell - r those spots land-based or in a boat

Plastics are great Moreton Island Bay side around Tanaglooma. There are also some great spots off the wrecks.

Both land and boat, if u want to fish off the shore then deepwater bend is the best spot. when i had my boat my depth sounder showed some nice deep holes about 18 feet deep only about 10m from the shore. one spot in particular is a red beacon about 50m to the right of the boat ramp. its the only red beacon in that area so u cant miss it. 2 weeks ago i fished there and caught a 82cm flathead which i released plus a 2.2kg shoval nosed shark. but there's alot of small stuff in the river at the moment so its hard work trying to get a decent fish as the small ones pick u off as soon as the bait hits the water

Where abots at moreton are you going to camp?I take it you will be shore based.

just near where the barge drops us off near the wrecks

Just walk north plenty of flathead look for old logs in water. Up around comby really good for whiting at night.
