Illegal Netting At Monduran

This is a cut and paste from another forum, the author is the local tackle shop owner and avid barra fisho.

Please, if you are up at Monduran and see this kind of dog act, take as much info as you safely can and report it to the B&F patrol asap.

Reports have come in of illegal netting of barra is taking place at Monduran. Over the past week nets have been seen in the Two Mile and in Bird Bay. These incidents don't seem to be related as they both were reported on the same day. If you see any activity like netting going on please contact either the fisheries hotline on 1800 017 116 or the Bundaberg area Fisheries and Boating Patrol at 41315851 with details of what you seen [nets boats/cars rego etc]. Well that's pretty disgraceful. You'd have to think it was lazy pros wouldn't you ? SUrely no angler would get jollies out of netting them

Let's hope they catch a couple and fine them sufficient money to employ 2 staff to check all boats at the ramp.

unfortunately its not just at Monduran, it has been happening at Wivenhoe Dam as well, it seems to be a small group working between key dams, if you see anyone with nets please report it to rangers or DPI staff on any of the dams.

thats really bad i hope it doesnt start to take place at more impoundments like awoonga!
