Best time to thow in a line?

I've been throwing a line in at the Jindalee pontoon recently & I was wondering if there was a 'best time' to maximize the chances of hooking a few? I've been watching the tides, but I'm unsure if fish have a certain 'cycle' of the way they do things with other stuff.

Anyhoo, what amount of importance do the following have?

[ul][li]Tides[/li]

[li]Time of Day[/li]

[li]Time of year[/li][/ul]

If your keen on that, drop in to your local newsagent, they will have the "anglers almanac" which is supposed to list the best times of the day based on tide and moon cycles. My advice would be if bank fishing up there an hour each side of high tide, on the smaller tide of the day. Thats going to be the easiest time.

the current in the middle reaches can be pretty vicious so i would suggest fishing when the tide slackens, i cant see that fish would be out hunting in current that strong (unless you can find a nice big piece of structure that will hold fish behind it)

All 3 are very important. Each for different reasons for different species.

Not all fish are on the bite at the same time. Some will be early morning / arvo. Others middle of day, others on certain tides, others on certain moon phases.
