fish kill at laidley

was just talking to a friend of my fathers who went up to lake dyer at laidley last weekend to go fishing. when they arrived the banks were covered with dead fish of every kind and size. anyone heard anything about this or is it being hushed up

I'm thinking, the recent rains have washed farming chemicals into the water, pesticides and fertilizers. Takes more than a couple of chilly evenings to kill a lake full of fish.

It will be interesting to find out tho.

i have been wondering if its a bit quite around ,because of the same thing.

the rain washing pesticides and fertilizers etc into the water ways.

Would look to a lot of other reasons before jumping on the poison cause. Would check water temp, recent inflow events, reduced dissolved oxygen levels due to rotting vegetation. Freeze some samples and call DPI.
