queensland Brisbane River Threadfin

Good catches of Threadfin Salmon are being taken in the Brisbane River. If you head out from the Lytton Rd ramp next to the Water Police and head toward Patricks they are hanging around the second eddy.

on a somewhat related note, does anyone have a listing of the different wharves and their names?

the only ones i know the names of are the bp wharf, caltex wharf, coal wharf, shell wharf and incitech wharves lol

word of mouth from someone whose job it is to patrol the area. I am going there soon and was told that's the place they can be found at the moment.

mate I have about eight sure thing spots that produce meter plus threadies,

They hunt along just about every single bank of the brisbane river up past kookaburra park.

yeah well ive fished for em and zip,caught em up home but not here

more about timing and tactics mate, i am sure you are trying the right places, now you gotta try through all different stages of the tide etc until you find what works for your spots

Are they good eating or just liked for the sport of bringing them in?

both mate, they are a great sport on the end of the line and very nice on the chew as well. from reports though can be a pain to fillet with the large nodules of the spine.

Yeah can be hard to fillet,nadders mate I've fished near every stage of the tide,gunna try again this arfo

mate i dont know. ive never caught a threadie before.

high tide is around 7pm. you got any ideas?

im up for landbased, boatbased.

Im the same...never tried for one, got a heap of pike in the fridge/freezer for bait...not sure how that goes, not entirely sure whether im going out tonight or not though so maybe a dusk fish?

Maybe you caught all the threadies around Bretts and that'll explain the lack of anything interesting happening there for me ^^

Was there last sunday evening again......no hits again....been super quiet there the last few times I've been.....might give breaky creek a try tonight.

we went out the mouth tuesday night and fished the whole incoming tide, NOTHING, tide was howling in tho but would have thought even more reason for them ti be hitting the eddys

I went down and didnt get a touch and didnt have a heavy enough sinker either tide was absolutely ripping through
