Much easier drive than to Cressbrook, even with thick fog. Todays level was below 9% with blue/green algae. Its also got a temporary gravel ramp due to low water. Boomgate was broken in the up position, what a bonus!

Whacked Rockets old watersnake on the boat and trolled up towards the wall with a big cod lure and a jackal. A couple of tentative taps on the jackal and that was all the trolling action.

I cast spinnerbaits to the rock face and 3rd cast on the drop, such a big hit I nearly lost the rod over the side. Pulled a 30ish cod to the side of the boat. It was only hooked thru the lip and when it saw the boat it took off and got a bit aerial and unhooked itself.

That was it for the next 6 hours, then came home.

To be honest though I reckon it would have been awesome to see the fish! At least you were not left in one of those "I wonder" situations!

The leccy is crap. Couldn't get the boat up on the plane no matter how hard I twisted the throttle :laugh:

Seriously tho, heaps enough grunt even with the headwind.

I must confess, I left the outboard on just in case.....

Cooby is a nice dam and at times you can do ok there,

However, it cops a flogging most of the time being so close to Toowoomba,
