Fishing Karana Downs

Gday all I am new to this so here goes. I was wondering if anybody had any tips for fishing Karana Downs. I have heard of Bass & Saratoga being caught.Are there crabs? Any info would be great as new to the area. Thanks Phil.

Stacks of crabs but they always seem a bit small there.

Might Karana Downs is a prime spot for summer Threadfin Salmon.

Plus there are 100's of sharks.

Plenty of bream, flathead, and other random things as well.

Id suggest searching through the reports threads for Kookaburra Park reports. There should be heaps.

i would avoid colleges crossing, the last time i was there it looked like a duck pond! the river has always fished well up that way- almost like a lucky dip. just remember to read up on the regulations about fishing around the weirs. lung fish are a common by-catch in this area so remember to be nice to them!

Also closed season for bass till end of month so please release any that you catch.
