Hi All.... As im new to this site i get lost rather quickly and wasnt sure where to ask this question,

What's the procedure with these guys? Is it as simple as writing down their details?

Also went out today with the Captain & Kristy (Kristy gave up early and got stuck into the crosswords)... Caught Three Chubby Bass, Only Grabbed one pic, All fish around 40cm. Caught on 6-10m Lures. (found a few nice trees on the flick also :blush: )

Hi mate in answer to your question abuot tagged bass the tags are 50mm to 70mm long and yellow in colour though they usually have algae growing on them and they look like a black slimy piece of string if you scrape the slimy stuff off carefully you will see written the number of the tag and RECORD DATE+PLACE+LENGTH and a phone number 1 800 077 001 the best length to take is the length from tip of nose to fork of tail. Write down the number of the tag and the length of the fish and if possible release the fish as quickly as you can.

It's pretty cool to do as they send you a certificate with all the fishes details on it, so you can see when it was last caught and how much it has grown. If you are able also record a rough capture location or GPS mark if you are really keen. Although this part is probably more important for fish that are captured outside of dams.
