queensland Freshwater motoring

G'day all,

I am close to being able to get the boat out, the motor is getting the check-over and service (hopefully all will be cheapish and well!), the garmin 300C fishfinder is about as impatient as I am , and the boating licence is soon to be booked.

I am curious to find out whether petrol motors are allowed on the freshwater dam's in the SE QLD area? I know that there are some areas where electrics are the only motors allowed.

Ha ha, I have been seeing all these posts of great bass being caught, and I reckon they are an awesome looking fish!

Petrol Motors are allowed on some dams. Definately Somerset, the dams south west of Brisbane at least one, possibly both. Cant remember and cant find my Beacon to Beacon (which has the info)Hinze no, Wivanhoe no.

Yep look at the back, all the freshwater dams (the ones you can get on anyway)with details of stocking, facilities, and motor types allowed as well as speed limits if they apply.
