Shimano Raider Rods

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has got any ideas about the shimano raider rods. I have recently been told twice from a couple of different people that the blanks used to make the raider rods are a G loomis blank. It has made me curious to discover the right answer. Today someone else told me that it is the Loomis GL3 blank. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

i dont know about them being a g-loomis blank, but they are fantastic rods to use in my books, but the 2 i have owned broke at the tip with not much force given to them..so extra care is needed with them.

but excellent to fight a fish with and cast all day

For their price, they are an awesome rod. For a loomis price, i'd be pi55ed off with it. I've had mine for 6 months and caught all sorts of things up to a 9kg mack tuna (with the snapper light) and i'm really happy with it. If it did brake, they're cheap enough to replace & i'd buy the same rod again

i had the tip break on mine as well , was on the second eyelet , still a good rod for the price!

My first raider the tip broke aswell, but exchanged no problem. I have the old one and a new mexican both are great rodsI caught my threadie on my mexican the rod was bent in half and the fish was landed, I was amazed it did'nt break.

Not badly priced im getting a mexican snapper rod for my birthday in november.

Dunno if they're on loomis blanks but they're pretty good. Have the raider finesse bream and had the snapper rod (which I broke at the base of the 2nd piece...weird)

my dads snapper raider broke in the same place...its funny hey?..they are beautiful to fish with, but a lot seem to get broken

mine bream finese was awesome but it now resides at the bottom of the river i have also a barra raider BC rod that feels fantastic! i think who ever told you they are a loomis blank though is telling furphies!.

I have a rack raider 3 to 5kg I think (cant read it)it is about 5 years old has had heaps of use, only had to replace tip. Good value for the price.

I think with almost any light 1-3kg rod you'll find a lot of people who have broken the tips

i never broke the tip just made sure i didnt drop it or smack it around to much, while i like the bream finese i now have a mojiko 1-3 kilo rod that in my opinion was cheaper and out proforms the raider.

Sorry that should have read the tip runner the ring cracked no problems with the rod.
