trailor rebuild before sale.

hey guys i am goin to sell my haines 445r and then upgrade. However i thought i would add some extras to the boat give her some elbow grease and rebuild the trailor before i sold it to present an inviting little package for someone.

At the moment i have completely stripped my trailor sand blasted all the bits i can at work and are on my way to strippin back the main frame. was just wondering if someone could recomend a good price galvanise paint i can put thru a spray gun to give a good look and good protection.???????????????

Never heard of a sprayable galvo based paint. I think you can spray killrust through the right type of gun.

oh yeah also my haines 445r does not have the canopy anymore and wanted to get new one for sale. could you still buy the right canopy made to fit up to the clips along the screen??? or would i have to buy a generic bimini one???

hey chandler wouldnt waste the time in trying to paint it.instead do it the right way and re galvanise the trailor. you have gone to this much effort just put a little bit more in and galv it.Its probably going to be cheaper then the paint and time spent on the prep work.

Also just be sure of how much value all this might actually add to the sale price. You dont want to go spending a grand when you just get a quicker sale and no extra loot.

yeah will look into. to get it dipped think they need to be sand blasted first. If that the case think it would not get the returns on th sale for the money spent. not to many people focus on the trailor they more look at the boat. see how i go

you can buy cans of silver gal, sparkies use it on switch boards where they drill holes etc to stop rust, i am unsure if you can get 4ltr tins etc though

real good paint to use though is wattyl kill rust epoxy enamel i have rust proofed the exterior of tractors with it top stuff and and sprays pretty flat to being epoxy enamel you have to take your time and do a few coats , if you put to much on straight up it will dry a skin on top then crack as the wet paint under neath dries.

you can get an industrial spray gal but you cant use it in normal spray gear

it requires a pump rig as well as air

well ended up gettin some stuff real! cheap from work if you know wat i mean. Used cold gal primer and Duragal finish and it has come up lookin real good and protected. new style trailor hitch new jocky wheel that swings up and locks and new spare tyre stub that will mount the spare on the trailor looks great. just got to fit the new trailor lights to the guards to do away with the old light board and she will be sweet. makes me think twice about selling it.
