Hi Guys,

Hoping the brains trust on here might be able to help.

Currently drawing up the canopy fitout for my Ranger I just picked up for a work😉

Don't really want to spend 1k on a drop down fridge slide that takes up half the cab with a 65l fridge on.

I have a waeco that is a few years old that I want to take the compressor and evaporation plates out of and make my own drawer fridge.

I would need a new thermostat and maybe a remote display.

I can make it out of sandwiched plastic/ polyurethane foam board and have a sealed drawer box made easily at work. That's the easy part. It would be 900mm x 500mm x 250mm.

This would give me 110L of storage. Almost double the 60L fridge I have now and only a 300mm high drawer full depth.

Another option is this compressor online.

https://www.amazon.com

I'll post some drawings tomorrow of my idea.

Anyone done anything like this before?

Should be easy fix.

I had a R75 Mack years ago and they had like a transmission tunnel

in the cab so fitting a fridge was impossible. Engel used to make a fridge unit

for boats and I used one of those and fitted it to a custom made

fiberglass cabinet like an esky shape to make a fridge which worked

like a dream. So hook in, it's only up to your imagination.

Good luck.
