AFO is now asking for users to submit articles to the site and be rewarded with 100 AFO Points per approved article. You can accrue your points presently and soon will be able to redeem these points for coupons for AFO merchandise and cash.

You can write about pretty much anything, How-To guides, fishing locations, rigs, products etc. We do however have some guidelines which you must follow. The article must be a minimum 400 words. 500 is preferable and there is no limit on the length, as long as it delivers the intended message. Generally we would like at least one image to go along with the article. You can provide more images as long as they are relevant to the article. The images need to be jpg and resized to 600x400pixels.

We only accept submissions from the original author of the articles or a publicist hired by the copyright owner to submit material here. By submitting material, you acknowledge that you are legally entitled to distribute the work and to allow it to be redistributed. (If you are a book publisher or public relations firm with copy to distribute, please include a note to that effect at the top of the article you submit.) We do not accept articles that are primarily advertisements. However, you may place a brief resource box and contact information (but no ads) at the end of your article which we may publish.

WHEN WRITING YOUR ARTICLE:

[li]Write about what you know and what interests you. Most people have expertise in some field. Leverage this. An article on your particular product will have a very limited audience. However, comparing a few similar products in a non-biased fashion would be of value. "How to" articles are also good candidates. Also, your professional opinion on a related subject would be good.[/li]

[li]Use a spell-checker on the article. You would be surprised at how many articles have spelling mistakes. If necessary, copy and paste it into Microsoft Word (ensure using Australian dictionary). We will normally reject any article with spelling mistakes[/li]

[li]Have a friend proof-read it. This is just to pick out any obvious shortcomings.[/li]

[li]Make sure that the title is really catchy. A good title will help your article.[/li]

[li]Limit the amount of formatting in the article.[/li]

[li]Make it easily to scan and get the main points. Use subheadings in your article - formatted in bold or capital case to highlight main points and making it easy for the user to scan. Also, use bold and italic formatting to bring out points within the text. [/li]

HOW TO SUBMIT ARTICLES:
