m8 they do vary from braid to braid,a good quality braid is thinner for its rated breaking strain eg:Varivas Seabass 1.5 is 16lb but the Varivas Seabass Maxpower 8 strand 1.5 is 20lb but it is almost double the price.

i have found that with braided or gel spun lines you definately get what you pay for,so far the best braid i have used is the Varivas stuff but it is bloody expensive
